    Dreamweaver bug?

    hey all.

I just switched from Dreamweaver MX to MX 2004

Now I have found several times that I was trying to do a search and replace across one folder and it always finds the next one when i click next, but when I click 'replace' it does nothing at all, the found text stays highlighted. if i click find next again, it will find the next again with no prob.

    A bug?

    anybody else?

    Thanks

That really isn't an ASP, VBScript question ...

thanks for clarifying that for me. i still get confused between what's ASP and what isn't.

In fact, this is the most appropriate place to post since this is where most Dreamweaver users visit.
Maybe I should drop it in chit chat on the off chance that somebody there will have input.

Anyway, I don't think my title: 'Dreamweaver bug?' lured anybody into my posting only to find they'd been duped into reading a question about dreamweaver, not ASP. Do you?

Lighten up. It's a public forum for developers and the question is relevant to the work I'm doing in ASP.

    Thanks.

ASP, VB Script <-- look at the title - and post to ensure the user doesn't make the same mistake again....

    read the whole thing.

    ASP, VB Script
This forum is the place to post all your questions about using the Internet within your applications. Topics include: writing components for ASP (classic), VB Script, and more.

Someone has a problem has asked for help, I have tried to assist. You are being pedantic and are making no positive contribution to this thread at all. I suggest you find something better to do.

If you are so concerned use the "report this thread to a moderator" button and let them deal with it.

Let's clear this up by making this the last post in this discussion. I see now that I was wrong - I didn't read the small text, and for that I apologize. My contribution - if I had been right - would have been to ensure that this particular user would not make the same mistake again, and therefore not take the time from the moderators and the administrators, because they are busy enough. Once again I apologize for my mistake, and if a moderator stumples upon this thread, I urge him to delete my posts.

    Thanks Davebat. A true statesman.

vbNeo, thanks too. I get that you're looking out for the moderators. That's great. I'm sure they appreciate it. I just don't think I quite crossed the line on this one.

Still having the bug. Tried it at home too. when you do a whole site search for one term, then instead of replace all, click find next then click replace, it should replace the one it has cursor selected and then find the next one in the next file. In this case, it finds it, and selects it, but by clicking replace, nothing happens. It's like the modeless replace form is not responding. but then i can click find next again and it will highlight the next one. Very strange. And if I do the replace all, and choose yes to change instances in not opened files, it will do that task correctly. It's only when I search a whole folder and then search them one by one. very irritating.

    Thanks again.
