now this is where i am stumped. when the value is etered into the text box i would like it to serch all 8 columns in my table and then display the corresponding information on my main form.
i have tried to code it but it just laughs at me.
i am a bit of a notive when it comes to access but i am learning.
could anyone shed a bit of light on this
or advise a different course of action

Hi!
I think I understand what you want, but, can you give more details, such as:
You will enter information in one especific textbox or in anyone ?

in reply
the main form is just for displaying the information
the new form that will be opened when i click the serach button
holds a single textbox
in there i can enter any of the vaule that my be held in any of the 8 textboxes on the main form.
so i will just be one entry in a singular text box. i will tehn click the continue button on the new form and it will have to search through the eight fields in the table
does this give you any further information
i could do some screen shots if it helps ?????
