Not NoteMe
Not sure about causes, but i'd suggest downloading the latest version if IE - using FF of course!
Quotes:
"I am getting better then you guys.." NoteMe, on his leet english skills.
"And I am going to meat her again later on tonight." NoteMe
"I think you should change your name to QuoteMe" Shaggy Hiker, regarding NoteMe
"my sweet lord jesus. I've decided never to have breast implants" Tom Gibbons
Have I helped you? Please Rate my posts.

Hi, everybody!
I have a problem with IE too, and I think it's similar of yours...
Sometimes, more often that I like, when I open an .jpg image from my HD into IE (by double click on image file) it simply mades my mouse pointer runs mad...
The mouse pointer runs all over the screen when i move the mouse, everything on screen disapears when the pointer runs over it, and the pointer doesn't do the actual movement as mouse did... I'm using W2K, is it a bug ???
I think I have the lastest IE version...

If you haven't already check for spyware, adware, etc. You should also remove any BHO's which look dodgy and check for un-known active X controls.
You can also try, deleteing the tempory files, clearing the histroy and cookies and reduce the disk space allowed for the temporary internet files.
EDIT:
You could just create a FF theme which mimicks the IE GUI and make FF look like IE and she'll know no better.
P.S: Everything is porn.

I can't believe I'm asking this:
What is a BHO?

A Browser Helper Object - another one of Miocrosofts wonderful technologies which attracts the scum of internet scammers. It allows you to build internet explorer extensions using the IE COM objects. You can see which one are installed by downloading the BHO daemon from here. Its freeware:

See, if she had sandpaper, she wouldn't be having problems now. Go buy her some sandpaper ASAP, and coat it in some firefox. That should help.

sounds like an out of memory problem to me...
restart your computer, and click on the jpeg to see if it works differently. if it does, start in safe mode, and do the same thing.
what OS are you using? how much free memory do you have?
