Thread: Men <> Women

    Cool

    What does a woman want?

    EVERYTHING!

A woman's world is SHOPPING. That is what a woman lives for. She has to buy everything before it's gone. Women WANT MONEY! And a woman has to satisfy her needs before others which is just about never.

    What does a man want?

    1) Food
    2) Sex
    and
    3) Silence

Now, us men don't ask for much, but these few things .
Women just don't understand our needs.
We require these 3 things once every day.
We don't get these things everyday.
Well, we get one of them (food) just about everyday.
    The other two...well, it'd be nice .

See the difference between men and women?
    We require so little.
    And women...require so much!

I agree with you about what men want. But, truth be known I don't think a woman even knows what she wants.

Recently I had a work function to attend with my partner, I duly informed her of this, surprisingly she became very agitated, "I have nothing to wear" she said. I replied, "But you have 3 big cupboards and heaps of drawers absolutley loaded with f*&%$#g clothes", I stupidly replied. She then did the break down into tears thing and said "But I don't like any of them....". The only way to cheer her up was to break out the gold card. The correct term is retail therapy.

I agree about silence too. Lets face it, after sex what do you want to do? Sleep. This requires silence. My lovely lady only wants to talk after the deed. I have woken up occasionally after a quick half hour snooze to find her babbling away to herself. But you know what, shes OK as far as chicks go.

Talking I may not know much but the one thing i do know is...

that no one will ever..ever understand a woman.

But then again would you want to understand a woman? because then they would be boring.I love the unknown.. and woman are full of unknown things.

    Keep it up!

    I am a woman.

I also like the three things listed at the beggining of this thread.
I also like to go to the bar and have a good time.
I also like to watch the Vikings play on Sunday.
I also like to spend time at the lake jet-skiing and windsurfing.

The most important thing is to spend enough time with my 10 month old son though.

I am not a big fan of shopping either. I think the people that try to go to the mall on a weekend this time of year are absolutely insane.

And you know what, to top it off, I decide what I am going to wear 15 minutes before I leave the house and it only takes me 20 minutes to get ready. (This 20 minutes includes everthing, including choosing my clothes.)

So, not every woman doesn't know what she wants. You just have to find one of the select few who does. When you find her though, watch out. Those of us who know what they want aren't going to be pushed around, because we voice our opinions. That's how we get what we want.

    Normal is boring...

I'm glad to see there is another woman in here....and a reasonable one at that!!!!

    Talking

I think it is an individual thing, not a gender
thing. I know members of both sexes that act
ditzy or dumb. And I know people that don't know
    what they want.

A woman that knows what she wants is considered
assertive, which as I've come to notice, intimidates
    more guys than it doesn't.

Believe me, women are not the only ones that are
confusing. They just get the bad rap.

Thank you...Now we know that there is at least one sensible man in here too.

And, yes, I am considered to be assertive. (And I enjoy every second of it.) Being assertive is going to get me where I want to go in my career.

    Thanks Sherm!

Actually, I don't mind the occaissional women bashing jokes...there is a lot of truth in stereotypes sometimes. I do however demand equal male bashing humor.

I think the problems begin when women forget the difference between assertive and agressive.

Good for you smh! I hope you get everything you desire.

I definatley agree with sherm as well. stereotyping, whether it be sex, profession, where your from is inherently wrong. If everybody did that there would be tons of people who'd you wouldn't get to know just because you had the pre-conception that becuase he/she is from here or is this type of person. Being a "Computer nerd" myself, it pisses me off that people think "ohh he's some boring person that sit's in front of his computer all day with no life" where as if they'd giving me half a chance, they would find out that i'm not and pretty much everyone else is not like that at all. damn I hate these type of people

If others (not programmers) would read some of the stuff that is written in this forum, they would realize that we aren't all that boring, but we can be kind of 'out there' sometimes.

As a matter of fact, I think that programmers have more potential to be exciting people than the majority of people in other professions.

    For example:

Compare a person working at a construction site all day to a computer programmer. The construction worker does tough physical labor all day, while (in my case) I sit at my desk for the majority of the day. When I go home, I do not want to sit anymore, so I am up running around doing things. The construction worker will probably want to sit down because their body is exhausted.

Therefore, I think we can be more exciting because we will have the energy to do things after work.

Stereotypes, however general and deceptive they may be,
are an exagerrated form of the truth. There's more to
it than that, but they originate out of behavioural
    patterns.

That's also the problem with first impressions. Many
people tend to put a lot of weight on a first impression
and then miss out on an otherwise awesome person because
of some set of preconceived notions.

BTW, most of the programmers I know ARE geeky nerds.
Not like there's anything WRONG with that. hehe

But the only way to shatter that image is to be proactive
and let others know. "People" are just a shell... it's
just the creamy filling that makes us who we are. Damn,
    now I'm getting hungry.

It's just sad that one person can have such an effect on how other people see an entire group. In college, we had a guy who was the ultimate 'computer nerd'. He did the pocket protector thing and all. He carried his laptop everywhere with him and could not have a normal conversation because he only knew how to talk 'computerese'. So, after seeing him, everyone thought that all of the programmers were that way. Sorry not...I told my fiance that if I ever get anywhere close to being like that to take my computer away...

As far as I can see...there is no point....except to irritate as many people as possible. If you haven't read the threads, I'd suggest you don't bother....why irritate yourself. It's really not worth wasting your time.

I should think she/he/it is not only giving women

(just trying to drop in some humour.)

Ok, now that I think of it... why doesn't my post counter
increment? I know I do not have zero posts... unless
I'm drunk right now and am really in some chat room

    SMH,

I am a woman. Barrk is just bother because Jethro and Chimpface pays more attention to me. Out of her jealousy, she is trying to divert my sex appeal.

If you want to believe me or not, it is up to you.
