How to scan pictures from vb???

I have to create a program that needs to scan pictures and display them on the form. The problem is that i don't even have the slightest clue on how to go about it!!
What vb component must i use to scan the pictures??? I already got help on how to store and extract pictures to and from the database. But i just dunno how to scan the pictures in. I don't even know what hardware to use to scan the pictures. Please help me.........

Try using the Wang Image Scan control combined with te Wang Image Edit control.

I never used these but I guess these are what your looking for.

And ehhh, for scanning I'd use a scanner.
