XP Style on Non-XP Operating Systems

    Hey,
I was looking around for how you would skin an app with the xp style being on a non-xp operating system. but I didn't find the results I had hoped for.

Really, what I'm looking for is FREE custom controls that look like they should in the default xp style. I saw DotNetMagic but it's not free... but it would have been ideal - especially if I didn't even need a dll with it!

Could anyone please post links to anything useful please? I know Pirate will be good for this

    Thankies!

I also just tried Skybound, athlough I found it a pretty pointless procedure... it doesn't use custom controls so that aint what i am looking for anyway

Your best bet is using controls that don't use EnableVisualStyle method (owner-drawn controls) .

Here are some different controls (free) in C# . Try to search in VB.NET if you would like also .

What's so bad about those controls on Codeproject.com ?? You can use only the ones that don't use VisualStyle anyway .

For manifeast , I see this used also in award-winner programs(don't ask me names...), so it must be a good solution .
