    Task Mangaer disappeared from Systray [RESOLVED]

    Anyone else have this problem?

    I rebooted my WinXP today and now the Windows Task Manager will not show its little green icon in the systray.

    I uninstalled some spyware but I think thats it...

    Check ->Options->Hide on minimized.
    Uncheck it.

    It IS unchecked. That simply removes it from the bar at the bottom of the desktop. I'm talking about the little green graphical waveform in the SYSTRAY.

    I found this...

    This happens for most Auto-Logon users. Methods/workarounds: Log off and Log back on, password protect your account or disable SSDP and uPNP Services.
    You may wish to try it. Also, make sure that you aren't Hiding Iactive Icons in the taskbar, also
    if you open, close, open and then minize that task manager, it may turn on the icon in the notification area.

    Definately not.

    Tried it.

    Thanks for all the advice but nothing is working. Oh, how I miss my little green waveform

    OK this time, I actually set the 2 services to DISABLED (as opposed to just turning them off), logged off and logged back in.

    I got my icon back!

    Thanks everyone!
