Well, this is my work comp, and its been up twenty-three days. For running windows with year 2000 technology I would have to say its a miracle its not on fire.
my work box and my home laptop get turned off when i'm not there, but my trusty old companion from 1987 has a current uptime of 3 months, 1 day and 19 hours, give or take.
I've got it running a cellular automata simulation fullscreen. Its a hardcore bit of Basic code that prints out screen grabs of interesting features that evolve. Takes about 30 seconds to generate and analyse a frame and another 10 seconds to output it to my old DM line printer on LPT1 if it happens to be interesting mostly they are not. 16MHz of pure power.

Posted by dglienna two whole days. my DSL went down and I rebooted the rounter
That screen shot (apart from being way oversize) shows you only being connected for 2 hours.....I would have shown my router has been active for a very long time (not that means out) but I had to reboot it last night cos I had trouble connecting, turned out not to be the router though .

well, that was my laptop, and it was on for two hours. I could have shown a screenshot from the router, but didn't want too much sensative data floating around.
i forgot that i had rebooted the laptop as well. normally I just turn it off and it goes to SUSPEND for quicker start-up.

This machine is about 6 years old and only went down 183 days ago because there was a scheduled power outage in the datacentre where we keep it. Beat that, Windows
For all those claiming an uptime of more than one month for their Windows servers then I must add that you are ALL naughty. You should be updating your server with the monthly windows updates. Don't tell your boss you can't be bothered . . . .

I actually had a pretty impressive uptime on my main server but I just upgraded it from Fedora Core 4 to 5 a couple of days ago. Fedora makes me happy.
VMS systems never crash (unless you try to discover their IP addresses automatically)
