Setting the Enviornment variables - Resolved.. As good as it can be I guess :(
Hi all,
I have just started out with .NET I have been usung 6.0 for many years and now feel the need to change YEA!
Anywho... Is the SDI enviornment not available anymore?? I really liked that in 6.0 and am disappointed in not having it..

10 different ways to skin a cat and amazingly enough each and every one has the same result, the cat gets skinned! The same can be applied to code, so be nice and accept each others "preferences".

Do you mean MDI?
If you go to the Tools menu then Options. On the Environment General tab there is a setting to switch between Tabbed and MDI document environment.

I think he means SDI, and I believe we get the SDI by default.
Tell us where we're wrong.

Yes, I mean SDI. I wanted it like VB6 where all the different windows like tools, properties, and hte forms are independant and can be moved around..
The only choices I see are MDI or tabbed...

If I well understand, you wil be happy to know that is possible in Vb.Net, too. Also you can configure Function key for stepping trhough code as in Vb6 (with F8).You can easily change your window's style right clicking on the bar at the top of it. You will be able to choose if that window will auto hidden itself or if will be moveable and so on. I don't know the exact word in english menu, because I have the italian version, but I think you will understand it easily, or....an english friend will give you a more sharp help, I hope!

Hi RudyL,
Nice signature. But remember some of the ways used to skin a cat leaves other people to clean up the mess
Same applies to bad coding
