*Displaying text on another window without background

Newbie help appreciated.

I need to display some text on top of any windows that may happen to be on the desktop. If there are no windows, then on the 'desktop' itself.

My problem is that this must be simply the text without any background, border etc.... simply the text.

Help!

How do I do this.

I need JUST the text without the background - your sample has a box with a gray background. I need this without the background (or a transparent one)
