MS SQL Reporting Services
Has anyone used this here?
The basic problem I'm facing is that when I deploy a report, I can view it, since I'm the owner, and it's taking the Windows login.
But, even if I add another user in the domain to the group of administrators, they are still not able to view the reports. It seems like it'll accept my login, and JUST my login.
How can I allow for others in the domain to view my reports??

I wonder how many charact
mendhank,
I remember Reporting Services had a configuration file... but its been about 2 months since we dropped them and moved to ActiveReports...
It was a bear to get RS to do the things we wanted it to do... and we spent 2 weeks with MS to only produce a hack work around (which was amazing, so there are real smart guys at ms), but our clients wouldn't have liked it.
"This section provides information about system security settings that are in effect for a report server. Reporting Services uses Internet Information Services (IIS) and Windows security to authenticate users to a report server. Each user who requires access to a report server must have a valid Windows user account or be a member of a Windows group account. You can include accounts from other domains as long as those domains are trusted. The accounts must have access to the Web server hosting the report server, and must be subsequently assigned to roles in order to gain access to specific report server operations. For more information about role-based access, see Using Role Based-Security .
Trusted and single domains are a requirement for passing Windows credentials. Unlimited passing of credentials only occurs if you enable Kerberos V5 for your servers. If Kerberos is not enabled, credentials can only be passed once before they expire. For more information about configuring credentials for multiple computer connections, see Best Practices for Authenticating Server and Data Source Connections.

After we did a comparison, we also chose Active Reports over RS.
Don't know how this applies to this post now that I read it...

This sounds promising. I'll try it out on Monday.
We were using Crystal Reports, and everything was fine, everyone was happy. Until 'we' lost a debate, and had to switch over to MS Reports.
I must add, this product doesn't seem like it's been well thought out. The UI is rather unintuitive, and its dificult to get things accomplished.
*sigh*
But, will post back on Monday. Hopefully.

Let me guess, the debate went like this:
You: Crystal is doing everything we are needing it to do.
Them: But Reporting Services is free.
You: But we already have licenses for Crystal.
Them: Reporting Services is free, and I seen a cool demo on it online. It is what we need. Shut up and do what I say... I know all.
You days later: Having to come up to speed on a new reporting system is costing more than if we were to stay with Crystal Reports.
Them days later: Just think about how much money we are saving now that we don't pay license fees.
Is that about right?
I have been having the same debates, but I do want to switch from Crystal. I hate Crystal with all my being. I want to switch over to Active Reports for .NET. It is a dream to work with, and no redistribution costs for our clients.

Perfect! In fact, it's so perfect, that there is a 1/1 chance that you and I might be coworkers. Or worse, you might be one of 'them'
