I experienced the same thing a couple days back at work! (Adds are blocked at home!)
Fun thing was actually they had a game in the add you could play! (I think it was that c++ .Net add)

For those of your were its only there now and again its probably becuase you have adblocking software (of somekind) work and basically your blocking the ads but a couple of them are not being blocked by your software. Probably hosted on a different server or something.

My add disappeared and then came back with a Google ad.
I only noticed because you mentioned it.
It must know when a server is down and deal with it appropriately (ie hide the container).
Quality software huh - who'd have thought such things exist.
Rate my response if I helped

Hmm... I was thinking two different streams of thought while posting earlier.
I meant to ask "Why", and I ended up with "moved it to..."
I think I'll go do something useful with my life. Cya.

there is a reason i didn't put this post in the form feedback section and that is because i am not asking to remove the ad, i was stating that it was back

They don't appear randomly, rather they appear at the beginning of set time intervals. If the ads are not all sold, then there may be emply slots at the end of each interval.
(in my opinion) It is better to have ads all the time because it means that the site is most likely sold out. The importance of this is that it is easier for me to get resources to make improvements and upgrades to the site.

Stuck in the 80s
How much for me to place an ad up there? Could I advertise for a competing forum?
Just curious.

I don't actually know the answer to either of your questions..... I focus on content and there are others that deal with the sales aspect of the Jupitermedia sites.
If you are really interested, then you could contact [email protected] or send me an email with your contact information an d I can forward it to them to contact you.
Brad!
