Lol
There are three engineers in a car; an electrical engineer, a chemical engineer and a Microsoft engineer. Suddenly the car just stops by the side of the road, and the three engineers look at each other wondering what could be wrong.
The electrical engineer suggests stripping down the electronics of the car and trying to trace where a fault might have occurred.
The chemical engineer, not knowing much about cars, suggests that maybe the fuel is becoming emulsified and getting blocked somewhere.
Then, the Microsoft engineer, not knowing much about anything, comes up with a suggestion, "Why don't we close all the windows, get out, get back in, open the windows again, and maybe..."

I'm just glad cars arn't built like computers.
If they were they'd get twice as fast each year, ask for a username and password when you poened the door, crash every five minutes and ask if you want the air-bag to pop out.

Which is as useful as the Scroll Lock.

You wouldn't get angry if in slow traffic, you'd be thankfull that your car was going in the right direction.
When you get in the car it would make a really anoying 'tada!' noise (as if it were celebrating the fact that it started the engine without exploding).

If the car had followed the same development as a computer a Rolls Royce would now cost £100, do a milllion miles to a gallon and explode once a year, killing everyone inside.

What DOES Scroll Lock do, anyways? The only use I've found for it is wasting power with that green light on the keyboard and making a "beep" noise thanks to toggle-keys (no accidents with caps lock ).
Don't pay attention to this signature, it's contradictory.

Why do people keep asking this question?
Scroll Lock does nothing. Scroll Lock did have a use with command line interfaces such as DOS however. It simply prevented the screen from srolling when it filled up.

Well maybe it's time they replaced scroll lock with a button labelled "C.A.D."..
I'm tired of having to press three buttons to get at the task manager.

Humm to switch between PCs my KVM switch needs me to press the Scroll lock key twice, with your suggestion my PC would turn off when I did that .

My KVM is Print screen button twice
That would seem better cos the Print Screen button doesn't do out without Control pressed, does it? Yestaday I ended up taking my mouse out the KVM switch, the mouse goes funny when I switch so now I have a mouse for both computers.

Yea it didn't happen with the other mice I had but they all broke and when I took those back I could never find a optical mouse which wasn't wireless . I settled for this one and I don't like the fact its wireless becuase it flips out now and again if it losses reception. Its also USB which I think is causing the prob with my KVM (KVM is a PS/2 one).

& so did I but it still messed up. I just guessed it was something to do with how the wireless reciever uses the USB and needs constant connection to the PC. Cos the KVM just emulates the mouse while its not connected so I thought it must be somethign like that .

...The mouse, yes I agree. I don't like it but its the only one not to break so far. The others had neat internal batterys and USB chargers but this one needs normal batterys Looks nice though .
