    XP Security

    Hey is it possible to stop user uninstalling programs in XP, my mates computer the users, who he wants restricting, level are "user" and they can still remove programs?

    Um, you could disable the Control Panel or Add/Remove Programs in the policy. To do he simply logs in as that user, sets the policy that disables the control panel and/or add/remove programs and unless they are pretty smart, it will restrict them.
    I use Microsoft Visual Basic 2005. (Therefore, most code samples I provide will be based around the .NET Framework v2.0, unless otherwise specified)

    Could you make them "Restricted Users"?

    It says on the "Group Membership" tab of User Accounts that Restricted Users can't install programs, so I guess they can't un-install either.

    BTW with custom groups do they have to inherit(sp) from a base group?
