    Aldi Computer. Good Idea?

I was looking at a computer at Aldi (http://www.apcmag.com/apc/v3.nsf/0/0...256E37007FE6FE). It is a lot cheaper then the computers around here now. I have noticed that all the cards and other things of the computer have not got brand names or are outdated.

The wireless network card build in is the old 802.11b Could i take this apart and upgrade it to a 802.11g?

If you find any other extra web pages on this computer around the net could you please post them?

    Thanks, Scott

    $2 Grand for a pc?

    zoinks!

    Seems expensive.
You can get a solid PC for under $1000 no problem.
    Besides, it's german.

I don't know what the AUS Dollar exchange is, but it's not 2:1 is it?

    Aldi offering PC's

You talk to 90% of the staff and they couldn't even spell it

The spec isn't bad, but the parts are only cheap. Support is virtually none existant!

You don't hear much about Medion cause people tend to steer clear. Everyone buying a PC from a supermarket 'thinks' they're getting a good deal, whereas the only people getting the deal is the supermarket.

Medion are cheap, and very very nasty... but you get what you pay for.

That $2000 is aussie dollars tho Jpicasso, so thats about right in UK £.
