At school we use Bess, one of our network guys said that their is a way around it it has to do with the settings in either Microsoft internet exploere, and Netscape. I guess how it would connect, any Ideas on how to get around it?

as for IE, go to tools, internet options, connections tab, lan settings, uncheck use a proxy server, or if you click advanced you can just ignore proxy for certain sites.

Monday Morning Lunatic
It won't connect to anything because the proxy server is the only way out of your intranet. It's there to allow you to move past the firewall and/or reassign IP addresses dynamically.
Why do you need to get round it?

What the network guy said
The network guy at school said that their is a way around it, all bess does is check to see where we go, and blocks stuff, he said you can change some of the settings in IE or in Netscape, and you can get around the checks.

I dunno if this will help but try changing the proxy settings to another proxy. Find one at http://www.cyberarmy.com and replace it with the existing one in Internet Explorer.
