    56k connecting at 12k-18k???

    Does anyone know why my 56k modem would be connecting at 12k-18k? It has been doing this for about two to three weeks.

    Phone line problem would be my guess - call up the phone company and have them do a line test.

    Or it could be inside wiring issues - have you messed with your phone jacks?

    I think it is the phone line because whenever we talk on the phone it's really noisy and staticy. So thats probably it.

    Also try phoning your ISP and ask them if they have any problems...
