    Hello

    I am trying to copy a file to an ftp server using the Inet Control but I can't get it to copy my file. I know it connects to the ftp server. But it wont copy. I am using the following code...

    With Inet1
    .Cancel
    .Protocol = icFTP
    .URL = "ftpsite"
    .UserName = "ianf"
    .Password = ""
    End With

    Inet1.Execute , "PUT F:\CPSHA000173H.820 /CPSHA000173H.820"

    I am also monitoring the statechanged event to see if it connects or not.

    Can anyone help?????

    Thumbs up

    I reckon you should ask that andy ling, Just ask him to let your IP address in, and Rckon it'll work. I managed to ftp GETs & PUTs on every site you could possibly imagine (except "come on ye beggers - ITZ CHEGGERS" - Kieth Chguin's ftp site!) and had little or no problems. DWayne reckons theres a lot of internal security.

    The fact that the inet control is very buggy and is unreliable is VERY true. There are strange limits on it's use and it often fails to perform tasks. Using winsock is more difficult but it is more reliable. If you're using inet for personal purposes then it is fine and should do everything that you want, but for commercial purposes i would recomend winsock.

    Talking Inet Control

    Thanks for the help I have managed to get it working now. I declared a remote port number and request timeout. I also used the while Inet1.stillexecuting thing and it all seems to work now.

    I have had weird problems with the winsock component in the past and have been scared off a bit.

    Thanks

    Ian
