Bit of help with impossible files?

Well, I don't know HOW or WHY, but this is nuts. I've found three files on my computer that can't be opened, deleted, renamed, moved...

They were in the internet files of one of the old users on this computer (one of the ones that was lost when.. power was cut while shutting down.. oh that was an adventure)

Anyways, has anyone else experienced this before? The files have no type (just names like "Google[1].").

I have had that type of thing happen to me, but they were in the "Windows\Temp" folder.

i found that they cannot be deleted, read, closed, anything..., even in dos mode.

So what i did is run a scan disk on my computer and it does what it needs to do, but every time my computer gets shut down incorrectly those files need to be fixed again.

what you could try doing is formating your drive
    [Vbcode]If YourOpinion = WindowsIsCrap Then
    Kill Wndows
    Open Linux
    ElseIf YourOpinion = WindowsIsGreat Then
    Unload Me
    Else
    Get MSNTV
    End If[/vbcode]

That's the most brilliant suggestion I've heard all week.

2 years ago we opened an FTP site for our own company use - didn't think to password it at first - who would have thought that my 160 GIG/DSL speed server was going to mean anything to these idiots.

We've had a whole root downloaded by some idiot dvd-movie hackers - that won't delete.

We've managed to put it into the wastebasket - but it won't go away.

I've found MS KB articles on what bit is screwed up in the folder root, but still can't delete it.

It's on our SBS 2000 Server - we can't reload software - it's our SQL SERVER - our EXCHANGE SERVER - our domain server...

I hate hackers - what lowlife - steal my time and my resources - what loosers.

Well, I think I've figured out how to do it. I'm gonna take a magnet, locate the file (with my laser eye) then SMASH THE HELL OUT OF IT WITH MY 50 POUND MAGNET!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Don't worry, all my data is backed up in that bag of kibbles n' bits.

There's nothing quite like kibbles n' bits for data storage.

    THEY'RE GONE!!!

Thank you thank you whoever mentioned disc cleanup! I just dropped the foldre containing the files (which I could move for some reason, even though the files were stuck) in the temp internet files and ran disk cleanup.

BAM! GONE! Although the temp files are still there...
