Opening Visual Basic
im not sure if this is the right place for this, but I have the office xp setup on my hard drive, and everytime I start up Visual Basic it trys to run the setup of office xp 4 times, and so i have to hit cancel 4 times, and it is very time comsuming, i moved the setup for office xp to my other hard drive, but it still does the same thing. How can I make it so it doesn't start up the office xp install everytime i start up visual basic 6?

This also happened with me..Well I didnt post it here.. the fact is that the newversion of components in Office10 library gets registered everytime. I found out a solution by uninstalling them both and changing the sequence of installation of each one.
Just try this, though a little time consuming...

Have you let it install whatever it wants to install?

The same thing happened to me.... I posted it here but couldnt
get an answer... the only difference is that it tryies to run
the setup for Pioneer OEL screen saver studio....
This happened when I installed and then uninstalled
a setup pack I made for one of my applications....
now I have to cancel that setup about 3 or 4 times every
time I start VB.....and the setup starts if I run any application
that was made in VB.......
Reinstalling of VB didnt help....reinstalling of that setup packege
didnt help..... reinstalling windows (just overwirting, not formating) didnt help.....
If I let the setup run it gets to a point that it cant find its onw
files because it tries to run from some temp folder....
very very strange......

Let it install anyway. I had a problem similar to that, kept canceling it but one day i forogt to cancel it, it installed whatever it wanted and it never poped up again.
I use Microsoft Visual Basic 2005. (Therefore, most code samples I provide will be based around the .NET Framework v2.0, unless otherwise specified)

Is there anyway I cant edit the registry and somehow change what initializes during the startup of VB6?

Do you have Microsoft Visio installed on your system? That's what typically wants to install with my version of VB.

no, I dont have Microsoft Visio installed, the only microsoft software I have on my computer is Windows 2000, Visual Basic, and Office XP, msn messanger, and some games published by microsoft. And im sure the games have nothing to do with it.
