the BBQ just totally rocks (especially in cottage country...AKA Muskoka)....and I will now share with all my own recipe for BBQ rib sauce (in the hopes that maybe notLKH might share a recipe for German Potato salad)
1 1/2 Cups Ketchup (must be Heinz)
1 cup Corn Syrup
1/2 cup dark molasses
1 tblsp freshly minced ginger
2 tblsp freshly minced Garlic
2 tblsp Worcestire sauce
1 tsp soy sauce
1 tblsp dry mustard
1 tblsp Onion powder
salt, pepper
***for extra zing:
Cayenne pepper (for those who like it hot!!)
Mix it all up, and voila!! Instant home made BBQ rib sauce.
For the ribs, I like to prebake them for about an hour and a half at 350 sitting on top of a bed of celery sticks and lemon wedges. Then off to the BBQ drizzled with the sauce!! I like to serve them with grilled veggies, and salad with marinated red peppers grilled on the bbq (grill peppers until completely black, remove and peel off black skin....cut into strips and marinate them in the vinegrette of your choice - scrumptious!!!)

Sorry, I'm not much of a cook, and I've never made german potato salad, I've only eaten it.
But, I have had my moments. For example, I do pretty good pork steaks.
Take your pork steaks, and sprinke some garlic powder over them. Preheat your oven to 450 F, Place your Pork steaks in a low rosting pan, surrounded by sliced onions and peppers. Apply about a tablespoon of teriyaki sauce on each pork steak, and put some in the bottom of the pan. Cook for about 20-30 minutes. {Watch the Onions, if they start to brown, then:} Move the onions and peppers over the steaks. Cover the pan with some aluminum foil, and turn the heat down to 400. Let cook for another hour or so. The steaks come out just about falling apart, so tender you can slice it with your fork.
However, I'm going to have to try your Barbeque sauce now, it sounds so good!
Hmmm, Maybe a "Favorite Recipe" Thread should be started.

Mmmm
medium rare t-bone porterhouse steaks
so big that you can only fit 1/2 a baked potatoe (that you just nuked waiting for the steaks to rest) on the plate with it.
and a quick glace at the vegetables you were going to cook but now that you have the steak you don't really need those anymore.
And a 1/2 loaf of Cole's garlic bread. (made in my hometown of muskegon, Mi- whoot)
A bottle or two of Sam Adams.
yum.
potatoe?
