    Question SATA Boot

    Can you boot off a sata drive because that is all i have.

    I cant install my Maxtor Diamond plus on my Asus A7N8X-E Deluxe

    I wont allow me to detect it in windows and i dont have a floppy for installation

    What a bunch of idiots.


    They dont provide a floppy disk because it is in a directory on the cd. seems i have another computer i can get it onto floppy but any person without another pc wouldnt have a clue!!!

    Oh well i will try and install win2k when i get home. wish me luck

    Worked fine for me without any floppies etc.
    I just built a new pc, with a SATA drive, booted with Windows XP and it found the drive just as it would a PATA drive...

    I had that as well when I built a couple of SATA PCs for my housemates....XP didn't want to know, so I had to make a driver disk from the CD.

    Took me ages to figure out, too :P
