I think that here you should have to wait 6months before taking the test again if you fail. Its stupid letting people try as much as they like. Yeah it cost £40 but if someone has the money they will pass eventually but that doesn't mean they are any good .

(I passed first time ofcourse )

Mmm....maybe is not a good idea another 6 months without driving...I say try twice in a 2 week period, if you dont pass then try again a month after that....

I was meaning the Theory test but I suppose the same should apply for the Practical, maybe not 6months then but at least more than a month. If you keep taking Driving lessons in that time too then it should improve your skills rather than just keep trying till you pass. .

check rear view every 5 secs and before ANY action/change of speed. Check wing mirrors on every turn

don't panic if you hit the kerb while parking etc. you can still pull it out of the bag if you show you are in control of the situation.

I passed on my third attempt. So if you fail then fuc it, don't stress. Just get right back on that horse

    good luck

That's why I failed my first test.. panic got the better of me after I did that, and I did a couple of silly things (none of which would have been an issue on their own). Second time I passed with ease.

All that matters is that you are safe to drive on your own, and as your instructor thinks that you are ok (otherwise they wouldn't say you are ready for the test!), the examiner will too. All you need to do is show that you can control the situation.

If you're doing something like reverse parking and you think you're gonna go over the white line/ parking space don't worry, just pull back out and try again(As with many things in life) . It doesn't matter how much you do this (to an extent), as long as you wouldn't have hit an adjacent car.

    One kudos-winner is this:

When driving down a narrow street and a soccer ball bounces out from between 2 parked cars, change down a gear and floor it. With luck, the ball bounces off your bumper and into a garden hence removing an obstruction from the highway. You will have made the road a safer place for other motorists and that is bound to get you an instant pass.

However, unlike Project Gotham Racing, powersliding around a traffic island is unlikely to earn you any respect from the examiner.

And remember up a steep hill in 4th gear, down the other side in 1st to utilize engine braking technique. The examiner will be dead impressed with that.
I don't live here any more.

    1) Don't get in a wreck.
    2) Don't blare your radio.
    3) Don't put on racing gloves and tell the examiner to "buckle up"!
    4) Don't have Vietnam flash backs during the exam.
    5) Don't take the examiner out to an abandon area and say "Pass me or you're walking back!"
    6) Don't pretend to be Mario Andretti while driving.
    7) Don't ask the examiner if you can stop and grab a beer.
    8) Don't offer the examiner a beer during the exam.
    9) Don't "Gangsta Lean" while driving.
    10) If you fail, don't tell the examiner "I know where you live ****er!"

The second quickest failiure was by a woman who accidently didnt go into reverse and drove into the driving center

The first was the same woman some time later went to get into the wrong car

the best thing to do is make it obvious that you are looking in the mirrors, move your head slightly to emphasise the point. (but not too much or he will think you havent checked them)

Just pull out onto the road, come to the first stop, slam it into reverse, ram the guy behind, slam it into gear, and blow through the stop.

You might not pass, but hell, you probably wouldn't anyways. At least this way you'll certainly have the upper hand in the negotiations. The tester will be so scared he'll say anything to get out of the car.

    1. Fix the passenger window so it doesn't go down.
    2. Eat el mucho beans for lunch.
    3. Skip the shower and antideoderant for a few days.
    4. Crank the heat just before the test so you're good and sweaty.

Guarantees a verrrrry short ride and the examiner will be too scared to fail you because they might get you again.

The only problem is you could get stuck with a stinky car like in that Seinfeld episode. But at least you'll be legit to drive it. Dateless and friendless perhaps but still legit...

    ç

    11) try picking up nice girls with the examiner, bonding between the two of you is imporant, the key is letting him think he'll get the nicer one
12)Why pretending you're Mario Andretti when you could be Michael Schumacher
    13) Keep talking about security, for example, say you always run over cats, dogs and pigeons because if you break suddenly you could make a bigger mess wrecking the car trailing you....
