How do i deploy a VB6 app that uses CR 8.5 ???
How do i deploy a VB6 app that uses CR 8.5 ???
Do i need any CR redistributables or anything? I've tried the VB packaging wizard and it misses half of the DLL's.
I'm almost at the stage where i'm going to visit the customer and just install CR developers edition on their computer - argh!
Thanks guys

I posted this awhile back, it should help you.

Use the runtime.chm to help you locate the CR dll's.
Hope it helps.

That's for cr 9... i'm using 8.5.
Still, i'll give it a try.
But this is what gets me - surely there must just be a 'install_crystal_runtime_8.5.exe' or something like that somewhere on the crystal CD ??? Why must it be so difficult...

there's a white paper 2 on teh crystal report site somewhere that instructs you to how 2 make a simple Crystal report runtime installer...
the truth is out there...

I mean, obviously you're using some MSI compiler that i'm unaware of.
And *please* don't be another forums junky who just tells everyone just to search for their own answers! You don't think i spent half a week doing just that before coming here in desperation???
Anyway i tried the first suggestion - using ISTools and it seems pretty good! works on my test computer. So... thanks for the suggestion!
