    xp problems....

    how do i format my xp? because i think xp has no DOS. so i cant type c:\format c:/s.

    i want to format my xp coz its been giving me alot of problems.

    1. wen i click on the internet explorer it does not open. i gives me an error saying it cannot find the .exe.

    2. sometimes my installed printers do not show. and the computer thinks its not installed but there are times when it shows up.

    i think it's all bcoz when i installed xp it gave me an error. could i repair it? how? or its best to format it? could u help me....

    Put your XP cd in the drive, restart your computer and boot from the CD. It'll have options such as 'repair'

    wat i did was to setup my xp again... i think i tried dat before but i didnt boot up from the cd. it just continued to boot up from drive c:

    Make sure the boot order is set to boot off the CD first then it should be right. Also, select the second repair in the Windows XP setup phase to re-install Windows.

    Do you have a floppy disk drive (If the previos recommendation doesnt work?)

    btw, XP does have dos, from the run dialog you can type cmd for the XP-ized version of dos, has some newer and easier features, or the original command.com form win 9x is included, you have to type command at the run command.

    That's not technically DOS, more of a command prompt.
