duties and responsibilities of System Administrator ?..
friend, i m working as a system adminstrator for 10 computers in central govt. deptt. what is the duties and responsibilities for me to work as system admn. ? also :
1) what kind of CDs should be with me always ?
2) how to solve h/w and s/w problem immediately w/o appratus ?
3) which are the latest anti-viruses that should be with me ?
4) what kind of drivers should be with me ?
etc.. etc.
kindly arrange for help with detail please ...

1) You should have a the following software easily Accessible
>Operating System Discs
>A good System Diagnosics CD
>A ghost of the computers (if they are different depending on how incompetent the users are you may want to have a image for all them, although if you do this you might want to serv the ghost images on the network)
>All the software that is required to be Installed on the computers (i would recommend putting this on shares on the network, make sure u set the permissions right)
2) Get a book on A++ Trainning...
3) You should use a virus suite that you can update vita your computer, Although it wont be cheap but look into it .... i will save time
4) You should all the drivers required for the computers you have (if you just ghost an image of the harddrive there wont be a problem like this)
Note:
Slipstream your W2K, XP, Office with the latest Service packs (saves quite a bit of time)
Tips:
- Google is your friend! Search before posting!
- Name your thread appropriately... "I Need Help" doesn't cut it!
- Always post your code!!!! We can't read your mind!!! (well, at least most of us!)
- Allways Include the Name and Line of the Exception (if one is occuring!)
- If it is relevant state the version of Visual Studio/.Net Framwork you are using (2002/2003/2005)
