Where To Start

I am a complete green horn working with Visual Basic. I have several books on the topic and would like to get an opinion on which would better explain how to program.
I will be using visual basic 5.0 and the books to choose from are; "VBasic 5 step by step", "Database Programming with visual basic 5 in 21 days". The problem is these books don't go into detail about coding and all the rules and regulations thereof.
The type of programs I am interested in doing are databases to fit the clients needs.

I think it is a good way, that you give yourself a problem and try to solve it with VB help.

I learned a lot form VB help.

A much more enjoyable way of learning is simply to place a control on a form and see what you can do with it. If you come across something like a property of method that confuses you, get out your books or fire up VB Help. Also, read any topic on this BB that looks remotely interesting and you can take snippets of info and code. Certainly make use of this BB, it is excellent and so is the advice.
