Making a winner in my program

Hi im making a program in vb.net which is linked to a database, i have a group of users, and they have some numbers each, i want to be able to enter some numbers in text boxes and this checks them against their numbers and pulls out the matching users.

any idea how i would do this?

ive not done alot of programming in vb.net but i am keen to get started!!!

    Thanks

    Homer

    Well...

This depends largely on the type of database that you will be using...

What is it? Access, SQL, DBSomethin'

If you have not yet decided, I would probably go with access if I were you. I say this because access has a nice visual front of its own where you can create the databases and it is REALLY easy to use.
