Transformation Question
Just wanted to check an answer I got
What series of transformations maps:
y = cos (x)
to
y = 2 - 6 cos (2x - pi)
Thanks

Well you'd be taking y=cos(x) and:
1. double it's period, y=cos(2x)
2. shift it pi to the right, y=cos(2x-pi)
3. stretch it by factor 6 in the y-direction, y=6cos(2x-pi)
4. reflect it in the x-axis, y=-6cos(2x-pi)
5. shift it 2 upwards, y=2-6cos(2x-pi)

Am I the only one who despises the "reflection" and instead just considers it a negative stretch?
Don't pay attention to this signature, it's contradictory.
