Wild tangent question
In my control panel I have a wild tanget control panel icon. Is this spyware or is it ok? When I right click or drag the icon over the recycle bin it does not allow me to delete it. Im running windows XP and I think wild tangent is bad how can i get rid of it? All control panel icons only allow me to open them or properties but i cant delete any of them.

Remove it as if you were to remove any other bit of software and while un-installing, it should trash the CPL file

Using games in AOL's Instant Messenger requires the WildTangent Client... I do believe it has some spyware in it, been a while since I checked though.
Adaware (http://www.lavasoft.de) will kill it, and I believe it can be removed via the Add/Remove Programs dialog in the Control Panel. AOL Instant Messenger will continue to function normally, but I don't think you can play games in it. They have made the installation of WildTangent optional in the latest release.

I'd have to agree Ad-Aware is a great program for removing spyware, but make sure you use the update feature before you run the scan. I've unintalled my internet connection before because it thought the my modem software was a spyware program. I ran the update at a friend's advice and it did okay afterward. I thought it was wierd though.
