E-Mail Notifications
I got 63 e-mails in my inbox this morning when someone replied to the Post Race loads of times.
I always thought that you only got one notification of a reply until you visit the site??? - Apparentley this is no longer the case

The system should only send one message until the next time you visit. This is to prevent your inbox from getting a million (or 63) emails that all say the same thing.

I've noticed before that it doesn't work. I often get several notifications about posts to the same thread.

Same here, that's why I finally turned it off. If it was an interesting enough of a thread that I want to follow it, I will.

Yea I've noticed this, it doesnt always happen becuase I have had one notification and serveral replies have been there.
While your on that case can I mention also that I rarely get the notifications within a couple of hours of a reply (I do sometimes though). At first I put this down to a ISP problem on my end, however I can receive emails from other people when I should be getting these notifications .

I just want to make it clear that my experience was not just with the Post Race thread. It seems to happen with a lot of (all?) Chit Chat threads. I don't remember it happening with threads in other forums but then again I rarely don't respond to those.

Well I haven't been in the ChitChat section for a while now, this has happened for me in the PHP & Games sections though .
