Hmmm Cat Stevens ain't a good example dude
This guy stated in an interview that he totally agreed with the fatawh issued against Salmond Rushdie by the Iranian clerics. This is the sort of thing that your average thinking person will hold against a religon. Now l know you are going to point out that this is against Islamic teaching, am just pointing out the problems with some of its more fundamentalist followers.
I am sure jdavison will agree with me in stating that Christianity gave up this sort of thing a couple of centuries ago.

I do agree on that. Unfortunately their are alway people who will give their faiths a bad reputation and they always seem to outway the good and proper examples.
Thanks for sending the cd. I am looking forward to it.

That may be the case kovan
But his support for the fatawah does no good for Islam. To a western democratic society, the idea of a fatawah issued against some one for what they have written is both wrong and morally offensive. The last time we had this sort of thing was when Hitler was burning books.....well ok will admit the fundamentalist groups in the US do have a tendancy to burn books they disagree with. Very broad minded of them really.......not!
