Question Saving image in Internet Explorer [Resolved]

    Hi,
When i try to save a jpge/gif/png etc image by clicking right click and save in internet explorer, it only allows me to save as BMP. It creates problem when you want to save a animated gif. Is there any patch or work around?

I dont like saving the page just for the image, or looking into my cache folder.

    Thanks

Try clearing the Temp Internet files in IE's Tools>Internet Options>General tab. That usually cures that problem.

Not sure if you understood what i meant. I meant when i try to save an Gif/Jpeg image from a web site by using right clicking on the image. It only allows me to save in BMP and not its original format.

How would clearing the cache solve this problem? I will give that a go, it cant harm.

    Thanks.

You never know with MS products...

It's absurd that it only lets you save as BMP in the first place, that's not normal behaviour. It's a bug. And like most annoying bug it has a very obscure reason.

    You're very welcome

I never have got to the bottom of why this fix works, I just know that it usually does.
