I am downloading it now. I was reading an intervju with Tim Sweeney the other day. The intervjuer couldn't get much out of him, but the whole projects looks like it is going to kill my machine anyway.......everything is done per pixel,. Would probably give me a frame rate of 0.001..

Oh, my good, that was nice..he could never stop talking about how nice it was to have everything rendered per pixel....he said it probably 4-5 times......it was a bit hard to hear, but I think he said that they used PS2.0 and 3.0, and my 9800PRO doesn't have HAL for 3.0, so I would have to use REF; and then I would get even worse frame rate......the games out of this engine, and when Doom 3 gets out are going to sell HW as hell...

BTW the disoplasement (SP?) mapping looked so real. Can't belive they did that with only 50 to 100 PS instructions...I need to get my VS and PS examples up and go...

I never thought per pixel shading was going to look so good!

Next gen hardware is about to force me into upgrades.

Probably just build a new comp, switch this one to Linux and run Maya on it, and use the new one for games.

Hehe...I have just bought my self a DX9++ GPU that can use my VS and PS 2.0 instruction set, so I have no plans to buy a new gaming PC at the moment. But when that engine starts to get used for games, then I might think twice about that...
