Lock type in disconnected recordset

if i want to save record in database using disconnected recordset which locktype i should use and why?

For a disconnected recordset there are only two lock types to use. adLockReadOnly and adLockBatchOptimistic.

If you need to update the choice between the two is obvious.

When you are ready to update the data again

Re-Connect to your data source.
Call the UpdateBatch method.
