    Checking modified state in excel

I need to know how to check if any currently open workbooks in Excel are unsaved.

Basicly, the app I'm working on has to take near complete control of Excel, and if a user had a previously open workbook.. they would be unable to save it. So I'm going to check before starting if they need to save and warn them.
Don't pay attention to this signature, it's contradictory.

Use the workbook.saved property to check for true or false.

A false value means that you have to save the file before exit or you will lose your changes. A true value indicates there have been no changes since the last save.
