Probably. I downloaded it, haven't used any of the features yet though.

I guess it's worth it if you are gonna use some of the new classes. Im just sticking to j2sdk1.4.1_05

Well, it automatically uses StringBuilder instead of StringBuffer, this alone should be worth a little speed.

Yeah i really got to check out what new classes are contained in this new 1.5 version.
