Date format in a Datagrid

I am somewhat new at this. I have a Datagrid the I am binding from a datasource. In that datasource is a date field that I want to edit on the grid. I am using the property builder to set a cloumn for that date field. What Data formating expression do I use. The field is numeric ... 8 in length as 10312004.
