Newbies VB questions?

Hi,

I'm new to Vb and have few questions to ask. Beside setting up to run on web server, can vb run as web browser with database without the help of web server? I mean to code vb application that will run just like the web browser, receiving, and updating datas from database without the web server.

could you be a little more specific...do you mean can you make a browser using VB that doesn't require a web server on the internet...no you can't, all browsers need a web server to give them the information (html code, graphics etc)
