Running .exe without warning
is it possible to open an .exe program from excel without having the warning virus possible message as my user wiill get scared if they see it.

Just a quick after-thought, but perhaps a registry hack could be performed from within Excel? How would such a hack affect portability between versions and roaming network users?

Unless the pc this macro is running on has the Excel macro security setting turned to low, or you've implemented digital certificates then there's no way to stop this feature (even with the registry).
