If they are getting the source, that means that they would probably be losing any and all support for the product. I would charge an arm and a leg, to make it worth their while not to have the source.

It's not so much the number of lines that should factor into the price as the IP. How long did it take you to whip up? Is the guy likely to resell it? Actually I'm amazed the source code wasn't required as a deliverable.

Well, its an app that communicates with a device thru serial..this device sends commands and you gotta interpret them and I threw a couple of addons...Actually they came to me cause I know the protocol this device uses...not likely for reselling..though...

instead of selling the source, you should license it.

    This reminds me of http://www.vbforums.com/showthread.p...hreadid=278769

PS. Its not a source code. You wouldn't point at a puddle and say "That's a water." source code is more like a substance than a discrete object, gramatically speaking.

I would tell him that you do not sell your source code until you
are unable or unwilling to support the application.

Unless this would stop you from doing business with this customer in the future.
Then, I would maybe post a question on a programming forum.
Someone might be able to help you there.
    Merry Christmas

Avoid the hassle and don't sell it to him.
