CRASH by controller card !
My pc crashes(reboot) when i want to install the drivers for a Parallel port I/O controller card(ITE 887x) !
I'm sure the card is ok
Can anybody help ?
Pentium 4 2.4
Asus mobo
OS Windows XP

PCI
(On the box : easy plug and play , automatically selects IRQ and I/O adress)

Try a different PCI slot....first off.

Done ! and is the same
The system ask's me for an file "ITE.sys" and when i point the file he Reboots
Very strange ....

Perhaps go to their website and check for current drivers

Try disabling your onboard parallel card first, just incase it shares the same drivers as the one you're trying to install. If it also uses ITE.sys, then it's gonna give you trouble if it's in use!

I found the Website !
I didn't found anything on the cryptic website!
(cardnumber ITE 8875)
Also disabled the intern LPT port , No progress....

Sounds like a DMA problem...Are there any jumper pins on the card itself. I know you said it was plug and pray. But.....
