    Why the thread area is simple

    when i type a msg here...i put some tags to bold italic underline etc

    why it's not auto like in ms word,hotmail,yahoo etc..

    why i type all msg and format it..

    Because it's not nice to have it all bloated up like hotmail and yahoo. And the page loads up all nice and fast.

    You can do some formatting. It just requires using the buttons and such in the message entry window. There are also tools that people have created that will allow you to highlight words and right click on them to format.
