Only 1 person you can blame. Well 2. Janet Jackson and Justin Timberlake. They started this push for broadcast descency(sp?) that is growing lately.

I can't say I blame them for this. I blame them for their superbowl stunt. That's it. Censorship and imposing your will are the fault of the FCC and Clear Channel. I hold them fully responsible. Honestly, I'm not passionate about anything but this just pisses me off to no end.

Well, I never Liked HS, but I never really Disliked the gent either.
But, I've hated ClearChannel ever since they fired Bob in the Rochester Area over the whole Orangutan incident.
Of course, I guess they're only HalfBad, since Bob still has his Utah Gig.

But it was their SuperBowl stunt that has directly caused networks to enforce tighter standards and practices.

What is funny is how people think that network executives are going to look at some online petition with e-mail addresses on it and suddenly say "oh look, a bunch of geeks want howard back, lets go bring him back right now." I guarantee nobody but you cares what you think so why bother taking the time??

Huh, what luck. Fascism you can vote for.

Ok, we all (or most of us anyways) know who Howard Stern is...... and anyone who knows who he is knows what kind of show he puts on. Soooo.... if you were running Clear Channel, WHY WOULD you start running the Howard Stern show, THEN FINE HIM, DROP HIM, and CRITICIZE HIM?!
That's like hiring MTV to run the half-time show, and then being surprised when Janet's booby pops out. Or better yet, that's like buying a lemon and being surprised that there is lemon juice in it.

Because clearchannel is a gigantic company and will do whatever they can to make money. They picked him up because it got ratings, they dropped him because it got them on the good side of people who disagreed with his antics and stopped people from boycotting their stations. Its not about whats right and wrong its about having more or less money.
