Finding the center of a triangle? .:Resolved:.

Hello everyone, i'm trying to calculate the x coordinate of the cente rof mass of this object. The object is a triangle with a rectangle attached to it so it loooks like

    ------. ,
    | ',
    | ',
    | ',
    ------ ------- '.

yes i know thats a weak drawing but it will have to do.
well i found the center of mass of the metal plate, but i have no idea, how to figure out the center of that triangle, the triangle is
5 meters in height and 9 meter's long.
the rectangle is 5 meters high and 1 meter long
so my equation looks like this:
    [5(.5) + 22.5(center of triangle)]/(5+22.5)]

    any idea's? Thanks

The centre of the triangle will have the co-ordinates (4, 5/3) from the bottom left corner of the rectangle.

the centre of the rectangle will have the co-ordinates (0.5, 2.5)

This will give an overall centre of mass co-ordinates of (9/4, 25/6)

    i reckon

I ended up drawing plum lines for the triangle and they all seemed to intersect right at 4 on the rectangle so i used that and got the right answers! thanks anyways!

Isn't the center the average of the 3 points? You can find the 3 points pretty easily if you know trig.
Don't pay attention to this signature, it's contradictory.
