We have a very different definition for liberals and liberalism and, as it nearly always goes, the original is far closer to the mark than whatever meaning you yanks attach to it.

And spare me the usual in-the-US-liberals-are-commies diatribe, don't want it, don't need it, seen it, heard it, read the book, bought the damn T-shirt ...
