Attention Retards: Mr. Gibson Wants YOU!

I was going to go upstairs then I read the profile of a friend of mine and instead have decided to rant on and on, yet again, about the hopelesness of the human race. I am seriously not a pessimist, I hope every day that things will get better and better, but perception is the ultimate problem. I percieve the world as being retarded despite my greatest hopes, dreams, and even prayers, which funnily enough, is what today's rant is about. Not only are religious freaks retards, not only are 12 year olds professing a religion they know nothing about retards, not only are people who base their life entirely around the movie scarface geniuses, but I have just discovered a whole new brand of jesus fanatic. Ladies and gentlemen strap some bombs to your chest and prepare to be a crusader.

Some of you may remember my recent rant about how the majority of teenagers should consider themselves incapable of making any decisions about changing religions because most of them are simply too ignorant to understand the meaning of the religion, and mostly do it for motives other than the salvation of their collective souls. However ignorance has just reached a whole new level with the following profile.

    Feb. 27 Changed forever!:'(

Feb. 28 1:08 A.M. eyes opend and let Him in!

    Accept Him

Okay, I have no problem with people professing their religions, that is your right to have your opinion about something. This person however, has had his faith reaffirmed by a movie, not from a priest molesting him or from reading the bible, from a made up thing out of some guy's mind. Sure Mr. Gibson followed the gospel when making the movie, but he more than once exercised what has become known as dramatic license, which is also known as: an author who decides the original story isn't quite good enough so it is his right, being the bearer of this license, to change it however he sees fit to make more money off of it. God did not make this movie, and I am thoroughly convinced that Mel Gibson is not the second coming of Jesus. So why suddenly would you profess your faith after watching a movie?? The answer really is simple, you are ignorant and choose to follow other people's paths simply because it is the currently popular thing to do. I have watched fads come and go, but never before has my very own religion been a fad which teenagers are suddenly participating in simply because it looks cool. For as long as I can remember people have wore gold crucifixes to look cool, but wearing a cross and suddenly becoming a priest are two completely different things.

When 8-Mile came out millions of white kids accross America were inspired, if a guy from nowhere can grow up to become a house-hold name then why can't they?? Then these kids were only shot down a month later when they entered real battles and realized that saying that somebody is queer and you wish you could spill their beer is not actually considered rap. Now millions more Americans will watch this movie, this movie which is only being promoted by those sworn against it (like the jews), and be misguided into thinking that a religion is something they can just join after watching a movie. I have read the bible, more than twice as a matter of fact, I have gone through 10 years of Sunday School, I have gone through all the sacratorial rites, I have been baptised, recieved first communion, confirmed after writing a letter to the bishop and having been through those 10 years of sunday school. I worked fairly hard to be considered an upstanding member of the church community, I had to do 40 hours of volunteer work just for the church, I had to work at church events taking time out of my day to help out my community, and now I predict there will be a sudden overwhelming of people wanting to join my faith, and that my friends is just not right.

Whether you believe the same as me or not if you are half way educated and have had to do anything to be a valuable part of your religion you will agree that for the betterment of society Mel Gibson should be burnt at the stake, then hammered into a cross.

Side Note: this topic is not intended to spark up religious debate, we all have different opinions. This topic is instead to flame retards who piss me off.

Well, I must actually say I agree. Although I pretty much blame everything either on al queda (which is the US's foreign policy: something goes wrong blame it on the terrorists... lost your car keys?? damn you osama, damn you to hell) or canada.

If that doesn't work, blame it on the French.

    Skitchen8,

You quite clearly believe in God - hence any argument you make is invalid.

And you are an idiot. You assume that a person's beliefs will have anything to do with their ability to show intelligence, proving quite well that obviously people that do not believe in god are no more intelligent than others. People like you should just flat out not exist. I'm sure you dislike many religions because they try to preach to you and convince you that their ideals are right, which is kind of ironic given the fact you just did the very same.

So respectfully, shut the **** up and use that small little still functioning part of your brain before you bother to speak again. Funnily enough the same was said (as to your comment about how ridiculous of a notion god is) about darwin's theory of evolution: that it was blasphemous and so ridiculous as to carry absolutely no bearing on society or the sciences, but I'll bet you accept that now. It amazes me how stupid people can be sometimes.

However to argue for your side of the argument (I just make things up about hating people, I side with atheists as much as christians) God is to society what dark matter is to science: completely made up from a lack of understanding or real proof.

Skitchen8, this thread is kinda pointless, because despite your earlier claim of wanting to not start a religious debate, thats whats going to happen. Mention the word religious and thats whats going to happen.

If people receive TRUE enlightenment, does it matter from what source? Be it a book, a movie or a neighbour.

If it's a trend, then it will pass quicker than you think.

It matters to me what source. I am a traditionalist in a wierd sort of way (being really into computers and writing the odd program or two seems to contradict that). I will admit that the internet has and great wealth of information but 4 days out of the week you will find me in the library reading printed texts and for research for any papers I write is done mainly in print. As I said the internet is a great thing, but is also full of idiots that don't know what they are talking about miseducating people on some topics that I believe should be known by people. I brought up my recent research on pi and other theoretical maths to a few friends of mine and they basically stood there with dumb looks on their face wondering why I was calculating their favorite food group. People should not do in depth studies on theoretical math, most people don't need it, but people should at least graps the general ideas of such things. I am 16 and I can even see how the educational system is making it a mission to dumb people down to the point where we can be misguided by any fool with a 7 letter vocabulary. I still know people that believe that the war in Iraq was the right thing to do... they believe that because everyone has grown up comfortable, my generation has not truly seen war, most of us were still young during the first gulf war and didn't grasp it, so now we take whatever the leader of the nation tells us with a grain of salt and assume that because they are president they know what the hell they are doing. That pisses me off beyond belief.

Lets pretend for a moment that I'm holier than thou ... (just for a moment - I have a repution to protect)

You say the source of enlightenment matters so I'll ignore the rest of your rant if you'll let me.

    {Begin Religious speak}

Enlightenment is a gift from God. No one finds it by accident. It's given as a gift. If you were not meant to find it, then you won't.

If someone is given such a gift, then the top boss must have made this choice himself. He has chosen the person, the timing, the location, and the means of communication.

He didn't make that movie, but he has used it to touch someone. Even idiots are touched from time to time.

So, if these idiots are reached somehow, even through a money making movie effort, who am I to try to deny them that experience?

If they find spirituality in its genuine form then good for them.

    {/End Religious speak}

If it's a fad, it will leave them as quick as it came to them so no harm in the long run.

Okay - no more holier than thou stuff.

I think you still have some growing up to do.

You are getting stressed out over too much...One day you are going to sit down and realize that all the time you spent fighting all these causes wasn't really worth it.

My advise would be to chill out and exercise your voting rights (when you get them) and vote for people who share your same views. This is far more effective then any protesting you might do in the future.

You will also live a better and happier life.

Most of my daily enlightenment comes from the sun.

Ok, so maybe that's not profound, but I was trying for a bad pun, and it's all of that!!

Who is to say that the writer of the bible wrote verbatim gods words? How do you know that he didnt a 'dramatic license'?

Religion is about faith. Not about a book, a movie, or another man's opinions The source of your affirmation of faith doesn't matter. You believe in what you believe, no matter the source.

OK I saw the movie. Personally I wish I had my $15 back. It left me confused though. After sitting through over an hour of wathcing someone get his arse whooped hardcore, the end of the movie was strange. After the man came back to life in the end of the movie, he still had holes in his hand. What happened to the thousands of other cuts bruised abraisions ect.. You would think if he healed himself he wouldn't be half arsed about it and healed all of his injuries. I think mel's version of JC was an underachiever.

I really don't see what the big deal is with this movie. The only real difference between this movie and all of the other Jesus movies are:

    1. This one had more graphical violence - won't be on Channel 11 on Easter Sunday. The story was the same.

    2. Differences that people feel the need to make up in their minds, believing that they see subtleties(sp?) that aren't there,to feel like they need to shout about it.

Holly shiite, dude. Where do you live that the price of a movie is that high? (or did the theaters just stick it to people figuring Christians would pay anything for this)

Not stressed out about it at all, I plan on getting a degree in journalism when I go to college so writing long articles complaining about things allows me to practice, and by posting it in a public forum I allow myself to see other people's views on subjects and perhaps be educated about them.

Pertaining to voting I am absolutely pissed off about not being able to vote, and pissed off about how little power the voters actually have anyways. Im sure some of you already know this, but if you read the actual polling results from the 2000 election you will see that Gore actually had more votes than Bush, but since Bush one bigger states with more electoral votes he got the presidency. Now there is proof to all Americans why the electoral college is a bad thing. I understand its purpous, to make sure that uneducated people cannot vote for people that would really have no reason to be an elected official, so my proposal were I to be able to make this decision would be to have a civil service type exam where you have to prove a general knowledge of the workings of the government and prove that you are intelligent enough to do such a thing as voting. That would eliminate the need for an electoral college, and possibly cut some beaurocracy out of elections and maybe get a decent guy in office.

You do not live in the south, they did that in the early 1900 to keep the black man from voting! Not good!

The difference is they didn't read the answers, they just assumed that the man would get them wrong to prevent them from voting, there were many people I am sure that would have and could have passed the poll tests. I trust a system like that could work, people are corrupt in general, but not that corrupt, you just need good people (the elderly would be a good option, not as easily coaxed by money) to score the tests.
