Just reinstalled windows95 and all my software after a disc format. Now when
I use vb6 there are no components listed in the components dialogue. I can
still browse for them, but they aren,t listed. Also when I try to get to
designers or insertable objects I just get a FILE NOT FOUND message.

    Absolutely nothing shows up.

When I do finally manage to find a component by browsing for it, it only
stays in the list if it is selected, if at some time I decide not to use
    it it disappears again.

I have already tried reinstalling several times.

    Can anyone help?

No, they didn't say bye bye.

They are all still there. I reinstalled everything. Like I said I can find and use them if I browse for them, but they just won't stay in the list.

The one thing that is really bugging me though is that I can't get to the designers or the insertable objects. I know everything is there but VB just won't let me at it.

It keeps saying file not found, but which file does it mean.

I even reinstalled windows again to make sure it didn't miss a file first time around, but still no joy.

Make sure you haven't checked the "Selected Items Only" box in the Components dialog.

I know it sounds silly & obvious, but I did that once and it took me ages figure out what was going wrong. (Especially if you're like me and you use this box occasionally to help qiuckly remove components from a project but forget to uncheck it.)
