Hi all,
I'm truly baffled! I'm using NT 4 and VB 6 Prof and I have a question about long path names. If a try to shell a program with a long path name, it works. Now, if I try to play a sound through the MCI or in other instances (running batch command, it does not like the long path So I give it the dos path name (code courtesy of Parksie) and it works fine.
I figured that you could use long path names in every instance. I guess I'm wrong.
Also, I tried pasting the mciExecute API from the API Viewer into my project and the alias part of it disappears.
It still works, but why does it do that? Is there a setting I need to enable/disable?
What gives?
I thought that the majority of my projects right now have been converted from VB3, something was messing up. I tried a new project and the Alias thing is still happening.
Frustrating!
Can anyone enlighten me?
Many Thanks,
