    Using pcAnywhere?

does anyone know how to use this software? I can't for the life of me get a remote connection to work. I don't know if both the host and remote computers need to have pcAnywhere installed on them or not. I don't know what the hell is goin' on.

    HELP IS GREATLY APPRECIATED!!!!

    Thanks,
    Jeff

if you only need use it to control remote PC, you may try Remote Desktop Connection which is in XP. Check accessories->communications

The machine you want to connect to needs to be in Host Mode. Also check the Callers tab under the properties to make sure you are allowed to connect. Check the Encryption settings on both the Host and the Remote machine for PCA and make sure they are set the same.

If you are behind any firewalls, you need to insure that the proper ports are opened.

    Unfortunatley, almost every day.

I prefer Dameware for Remote Control personally.
